Eric García has a year left on his contract and after having decided against signing an extension at Etihad, Manchester City are ready to sell him before the window closes on Monday, as long as their demands are met.
Barcelona are interested in signing the defender and their initial offer of €10m was turned down by the Citizens.
The two clubs are still far apart with their valuations of the 19-year-old and the La Liga side aren’t willing to spend more than €15m on the Spain international.
Catalan radio station RAC1 provides new development on this case and they explain Ronald Koeman’s side have made a new proposal for signing the centre-back.
❗️ Novetats en l'operació Eric Garcia:
📌 El Barça ofereix 8 milions + 2 variables + Rafinha
📌 El City vol 20 milions (inicialment en demanava 30) i no vol Rafinha perquè té massa migcampistes#frac1 pic.twitter.com/2vvFcwDD7o— El Barça juga a RAC1 (@FCBRAC1) October 1, 2020
It’s claimed that Barca ‘offer’ a deal worth €10m (€8m fixed plus €2m in variables) and also include Rafinha as a part of the deal.
Pep Guardiola’s side, who initially demanded €30m for their player, have no plans of taking Rafinha because they have several midfielders in their squad, and ‘want €20m’.
There’s still a huge difference between what Barcelona are willing to offer and what City are requesting to sanction his sale, and time is running out for both clubs to find an agreement for signing García.
