Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed midfielder Allan is on the verge of completing his protracted move to Everton.
The Brazilian has long been linked with a move to Goodison Park, with reports first linking him with a reunion with Carlo Ancelotti emerging in January.
That never happened but the Blues have returned this summer to make it happen, agreeing a €24m plus bonuses deal with the Italian side and convincing Allan to choose them over his other suitors.
A deal looks like being completed this week, particularly after Allan was filmed at a leaving meal in Napoli and then later spotted arriving on Merseyside to undergo his medical with Everton.
That is yet to happen, but now De Laurentiis has provided some assuring words for Everton in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss.
“Allan at Everton? Ask Chiavelli and Giuntoli; I need to check if all the cards are okay,” he told the radio station, relayed by Calcio Napoli 24.
“The lawyer told me the papers are okay, but I don’t know if he’s signed yet.”
That would certainly suggest that a deal is as close as it could possibly be, with just the final details left to be completed before Everton can finally secure a man they’ve been chasing for the best part of a year.
