Club ‘intend to defend their lead’ over Arsenal in race for 19-year-old – Gunners have until end of month to change his mind

The race to sign Dominik Szoboszlai is heating up, and Arsenal are falling further and further behind.

That’s what recent articles from the Italian media have been suggested over the past few days, as Milan, thanks to Ralf Rangnick, appear to be creating a gap between themselves and the competition.

Alongside Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain are circling around the Hungary international, but the Serie A club ‘intend to defend their lead’ between now and the end of the month.

Calciomercato report that’s when a ‘definitive decision’ will be taken from the player regarding his future, having already given Milan a ‘full opening’ regarding a move.

A five-year contract with a wage of €1.4m/year + bonuses is waiting for him in Italy, as will Rangnick when he eventually takes over from Stefano Pioli at the end of the campaign.

For Arsenal, it’s a sign they need to get themselves into gear if they don’t want to miss out on one of the hottest properties in the midfield market these days, and have until the end of July to somehow change his mind.

This all backs up claims from Tuesday from Pianeta Milan that Szoboszlai was ‘very close’ from securing a move to San Siro.
