AS Roma have reportedly picked Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri as a target for the winter market, according to reports from Italy.
CalcioMercato.it claims that although there’s interest, there have been no formal or informal talks with the Potters for the transfer as of yet.
There’s the possibility that Roma could make an approach within the next few weeks, but for now, the outlet claims that’s just gossip.
After a draw in the Premier League’s first fixture against Middlesbrough, Xherdan Shaqiri suffered a calf injury which left him out of four matches. Stoke went on to lose all of them. Since his return, the team have had two draws and one win.
Shaqiri joined Stoke from Internazionale for €17m in 2015, and, if true, Roma’s desire to bring him back to Italy seems to be in very early stages so far.
