Watford are perhaps the Premier League club who send their transfer feelers the longest way around the world. The Hornets have a long record of signing players from around Europe and South America and then often loaning them out.

There are so many that occasionally a player will be reported as being owned by Watford, and will actually be so, without the Premier League club having ever announced his signing.

There are success stories, with one of the big ones right now being Luis Suarez, who has this season seriously impressed whilst on loan at Real Zaragoza. Watford now have the chance to either give him opportunities with them or cash-in from a transfer, with several clubs in Spain and Italy keen.

It’s an ongoing process from the Pozzo family and their advisors, and a new player identified is Brian Lozano, a 26 year old Uruguayan attacking midfielder currently playing in Mexico for Santos Laguna.

Uruguay’s Tenfield say Watford have made an offer, which has been rejected. There’s interest from elsewhere and FC Porto are strongly moving into the picture.

It’ll be no surprise to see Watford return and have another go.
