Chelsea and Alvaro Morata isn’t a story likely to die anytime soon. After the Real Madrid striker earlier spoke of a colossal offer from Chelsea for his services, he’s now confirmed speaking to coaches during the summer.
Chelsea interest was repeatedly reported and even yesterday there were claims that Antonio Conte hadn’t given up on trying to get the Spaniard to Stamford Bridge.
Speaking whilst away on international duty, Morata has been quoted by AS saying: “I talked to other coaches, because there were other options and they were good for me. But I spoke to Zidane and he told me I would be important and play a lot of games.”
That’s where the crux is for Chelsea and anyone else interested in Morata. If he’s getting games at Real Madrid then of course he’s going to be happy, so it all rests on Zinedine Zidane.
