Lille right back Zeki Celik, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this month, has spoken to TRT Spor about his future.
Last week we covered claims the 22 year old is a target for Jose Mourinho ahead of the January transfer window, with reports in Turkey his assistant Joao Sacramento has recommended the player to him.
Mourinho’s No.2 knows the Turkey international from his 18 months with Lille before moving to Tottenham last month.
“My biggest aim is to play in this great competition. I am learning English. I have ambitions and targets. I hope I will reach them.”
Celik has been a regular for the French club since joining from Istanbulspor at the start of last season, but he could leave if the reports of Mourinho pushing Tottenham interest are accurate.
The manager and Sacramento were presented as being the men behind Spurs interest, although a summer move may be likelier than a switch in January.
Celik’s contract with Lille will expire at the end of June 2023.
