Chelsea’s Benoît Badiashile has ended up on Juventus’ radar, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Last month, Gleison Bremer suffered a serious knee injury. This has forced the Serie A side to look for a new centre-back in the January transfer window.
The Old Lady have been credited with an interest in a few centre-backs over the last few weeks and the Chelsea player has now been added to this list. Their need to strengthen the defence has increased after left-back Juan Cabal suffered a major setback earlier this week.
Juve technical director Cristiano Giuntoli’s aim is to sign a defender on a loan deal with favourable conditions.
It’s claimed the Italian club have initiated contacts for the France international. Gazzetta haven’t specified if Juve have asked about the 23-year-old with Chelsea, his entourage or both.
The newspaper makes no mention of the Blues stance on letting Badiashile leave in the next window. However, Tutto Juve state Chelsea could be open to letting him leave on loan as he is not considered necessary.
A report from France at the beginning of the month also indicated that Chelsea would not be opposed to letting him go for the right price.
The former AS Monaco man has been limited to 37 minutes of action in the Premier League this season. Enzo Maresca has mainly used Badiashile in the UEFA Conference League and the EFL Cup.
Taking this into account, Tutto Juve say he could ‘easily leave’ Chelsea, although whether that’s the case remains to be seen.
