Sparta Rotterdam forward Halil İbrahim Dervisoglu has told the Turkish media he’s eager to start playing for Brentford.
The Championship side reached an agreement with Sparta during the last transfer window, but the youngster will only arrive in January.
Brentford reportedly paid €3m for the deal.
Speaking about his pending move to Anadolu Agency as covered by TRT Spor, the Turkish U21 international said England is a perfect place for him to develop as a footballer: “I’ve made a great start to the season with Sparta Rotterdam. I scored four goals. That’s my first season in the league and I think I am doing great. But I have to get better. I have to show I am ready.’
The 19 year old, who is clearly very excited about his impending career step, added he wouldn’t be against playing in the Turkish Super Lig in the future, which comes after reports Fenerbahce are showing an interest in the young forward.
Despite not yet joining up with Brentford there have been claims Fener want to loan Dervisoglu in the new year. What happens next will be entirely dependent on whether the Bees feel there’s a place in their squad for Dervisoglu this season.
