When Jeremain Lens left PSV in 2013 to Join Dynamo Kyiv, the Dutch club made sure they had a sell-on clause in the contract.
Therefore, when Lens joined Sunderland in 2015, PSV will have been left rubbing their hands at the prospect of another pay day.
Finances in Dutch football are nothing like that in England, so a million here or there can really make a difference.
De Telegraaf report in their Friday edition that PSV believed they were owed €1m from the transfer of Lens to Sunderland. However, Dynamo didn’t immediately pay up and PSV have spent more than a year piling the pressure on to try and get their money.
The Dutch newspaper now reveals that the amount has finally been paid, and everyone can move on. Lens is currently on loan from Sunderland at Turkish side Fenerbahce.
