Stoke City star Bojan Krkic is a Spanish international in name, but in reality it’s not really the case. The former Barcelona player has played less than 10 minutes for the country of his birth, and that was way back in 2008.

Serbia’s Mondo say that may be the player’s one and only appearance for Spain, which wouldn’t be a huge surprise, but what is more eyebrow raising is that it’s claimed the player is in advanced talks to represent Serbia.

It’s said Stoke City’s Bojan wants to make the change, and the Serbian media are reporting it as a real possibility. Bojan played his one match against Armenia in a World Cup qualification game, but surely the Serbian football authorities would have checked he’d be allowed to change allegiance before starting talks.

As well as Spain, Bojan has also represented Catalonia at international level, but those matches aren’t considered official.
