Living in some kind of transfer limbo over the course of the summer, Marcelo Brozovic’s start to the new season at Inter Milan under new manager Frank de Boer hasn’t been much better.

The Croatian midfielder, who was part of his country’s squad taking part during the Euros, has only made two appearances for the Serie A club so far, totalling up to 65 minutes altogether.

Following a summer without a transfer, which was a bit of a surprise considering there were many reports of Inter Milan seeing him as a perfect opportunity to make a profit following his €8m transfer from Dinamo Zagreb, the player remains in Italy, but that could change very quickly.

The midfielder was left out of the Inter Milan squad altogether for their clash against Juventus, with the official line being ‘for behavioural reasons’, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, the player didn’t see it that way, posting a picture on his Instagram with the caption “Left out for no reason”, which we can only guess won’t please his club one bit.

A few days after the end of the transfer window, reports started to appear that Brozovic could be getting a new contract, but that seems like a distant memory for now.

The player’s talent has been there for everyone to see, but if he keeps on getting left out and making his clashes with his club public, things could get very messy for him indeed, and even limit his options going forward.

Bad behaviour can strongly impact a player’s career, and he wouldn’t be the first to learn the hard way.
