Neymar’s agent’s interview in Brazil has been a big hit in Spain, and the player has been much questioned about his contacts with Paris Saint German last summer.

In a press conference, he confirmed he had offers from many clubs who were ready to pay his release clause, but chose to remain at Barcelona instead.

Mundo Deportivo has an article today revealing who these clubs are, and they claim that there were four sides trying to sign him.

They say that besides PSG and Real Madrid, Manchester United have also held meetings with the player’s staff. The club reportedly pushed hard to give José Mourinho a star until the end of the market and sent the intermediary Pini Zahavi to Brazil, in a similar plan to Real Madrid’s.

Manchester City were the only club who wanted the signing but didn’t send anyone to negotiate personally.

In the original interview with ESPN, Wagner Ribeiro said the only offer that made Neymar hesitate was PSG’s, because Florentino Perez and “the Manchester United CEO” didn’t meet the player personally.

True or not, the stories match. And despite all of Barcelona’s efforts to keep an eye on Neymar in Brazil, the player’s desire was the decisive factor in the end.
