Manchester United have ‘already proposed’ offer to get long-term signing target over line

Manchester United have been chasing Hannibal Mejbri for some time.

The AS Monaco youngster is in a contract conflict with his club and hasn’t played for them for months.

In February, the player’s father Lofti Mejbri said their relationship with Monaco was ‘completely destroyed’, and explained it would be hard to ‘continue to work with people when there’s such a lack of trust’.

At the same time, an offer from Manchester United was backed up by Le Parisien.

In May, it was also claimed in France that there’s been an ‘important offer’ from Old Trafford for the 16 year old. 

On June 3rd, RMC said Manchester United had made a ‘very big offer’ and ‘absolutely want to recruit’ him.

And then at the end of last week, it was revealed Mejbri’s family had lost a battle to have a private contract with Monaco annulled, so any club would have to pay a transfer.

This weekend, Le Parisien report Manchester United have ‘already proposed’ a €4m offer to try and get the signing over the line. However, the player’s family want to challenge the latest ruling, which could make the transfer more difficult.

It’s now become a matter of principle.
