With the end of season so near, managerial changes for the upcoming campaign are of great interest in Italy, and Antonio Conte is at the heart of them all.

Roma, Inter and Paris Saint-GermainĀ are all said to be considering the former Chelsea manager man, according to various outlets, yet Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday believe the 49-year-old has one preferred destination: Manchester United.

The Italian newspaper explain a move to Old Trafford would be the ā€˜most appealingā€™ for Conte, going as far as saying as heā€™s ā€˜waiting a signalā€™ from the Red Devils to allow him to swoop in and come save the day.

Having given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a three-year deal after an incredible run of form, results have taken a turn for the worse for Manchester United in recent weeks, with just two wins in their last 10 games.

Even Gazzetta seem to think this is a long shot for Conte, as even bad results against Huddersfield and Cardiff probably wonā€™t be enough to force the Red DevilsĀ to sack the Norwegian, who deserves at least one summer transfer window to show what he wants to do going forward.

At this point, unless Solskjaer punches Ed Woodward or kills a puppy in front of the Stretford End, his job is relatively safe for the time being.
