Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has told the Swedish media the club have an obligation to sign him on a permanent deal if plays 20 games. The Sweden international is currently on loan with the Championship side from Torino.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen during the international break, Jansson was asked about his future, and whether it would be with Torino or Leeds United.

The defender revealed at the moment he’s just on loan, but if he does play the required number of games he will be permanently transferred from Torino. However, if he doesn’t manage this then he will return to Italy.

“I’m still on loan, but there is a clause that says that if I play 20 games Leeds must buy me. I look forward to playing for Leeds and If I don’t play 20 games, I return to Italy and we’ll take it from there,” said the Swede on his future.

Jansson has yet to make his league debut with Leeds United, but did play in their EFL Cup clash with Luton Town. With the recent departure of Leeds United captain Sol Bamba the 25-year-old will be hoping to get more playing time.
