Besiktas midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz has told the Turkish media his dream is to play in the Premier League.

The 22 year old has this week been linked with a move to West Ham United and the Hammers interest in the youngster has now been backed up in the Turkish press.

Speaking to Fanatik, Tokoz was asked about his plans for the future: “My dream is the English Premier League. There are many big teams. There are 5-6 teams competing for the title. It’s a very high-level league, where very high-level football is played.”

Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that West Ham are tracking Tokoz and are considering making an offer for the €20m valued midfielder.

It was claimed the Premier League side could come in with a lucrative offer for the youngster, with Besiktas set to make a huge profit on a player they signed on a free transfer last summer.

HaberTurk have today also reported on West Ham’s interest in the Turkey international and they say the English side could face competition from Genoa and Valencia.

Subsequently the Turkish media outlet says Besiktas plan to give him a pay rise due to the interest from other clubs.

The player is contracted to the Super Lig side until June 2021.
