Yerry Mina’s first season at Everton hasn’t gone the way anybody connected to the transfer wanted it to.
Barcelona got far more money then they had expected thanks to Mina having a good World Cup with Colombia, but the player arrived in England injured and there’s been several more fitness issues since then.
Injured during the last international break, initial reports from Colombia said the defender would be out for 6-8 weeks, and there was even worry about his participation at the Copa America.
Now things are looking brighter, according to Marca Claro.
The player’s uncle Jair Mina, who is also his agent, is quoted as saying: “Yerry will be at the Copa América, be sure.”
It’s also from the player’s entourage that the good news comes about a return date, so given Marca were speaking to Jair, it would be assumed it’s he who has shared the information.
Everton allowed Mina to spend a few days in Colombia, and he’s now returned to England with ‘recharged batteries’ according to the report.
A few days with his relatives has left him feeling much better, and Mina now has a ‘very positive mentality’.
