Sporting CP have reportedly rejected an offer from West Brom for William Carvalho.
Both O Jogo and Record are reporting on Tuesday that the club’s president Bruno de Carvalho turned down a €25m bid from The Baggies.
According to Record, WBA were told that they will need to raise their offer to at least €35m to start negotiations.
Carvalho has a €45m release clause, but there’s some kind of agreement which means Sporting would have to accept an offer of €35m, or pay the player compensation.
They claim that Tony Pulis has been a fan of the 24-year-old for a long time, way before the midfielder impressed at Euro 2016.
The newspaper says it was not the first time West Brom approached Carvalho and “it’s not guaranteed” they won’t make another attempt to sign him before the window shuts.
