With only a few days left before the end of the transfer window, some clubs are scrambling around trying to bolster their squads ahead of a tough season.
Now that real football has started again, managers have discovered new weaknesses in their squad or realised a new striker is needed before the 31st of August.
The French media outlet claim that both Championship clubs sent scouts to watch Diego Rolan over the weekend, as his Bordeaux side beat Nantes 1-0 thanks to a goal from the Uruguayan striker.
Capable of playing on either wing as well as being the focal point of attack, the 23-year-old is also a target for both Manchester United and Bayern Munich as RMC point out both European giants sent representatives as well.
That doesn’t mean they’re going to move for Rolan before the end of the window, and if anyone was going to guarantee the player first-team football, which is what he will want, it would be Norwich or Brighton.
Bordeaux would probably accept an offer for their striker if the money was right, but the club told RMC on Sunday that no offer had reached their desk as of yet.
We’ll keep an eye out on this one over the next couple of days, just in case this scouting trip was a pre-offer last minute check.
