Brazilian side Grêmio have not received a bid from Manchester City for the 22-year-old attacker Everton, Sport Witness has learned.

Earlier this week, reports from Brazil have claimed that Pep Guardiola’s side have offered €43m to sign the player.

However, sources from the South American club have dismissed such information, and are actually not expecting that much for Everton.

The forward’s links to Manchester City started in 2013, when the English club reportedly started following him. On Tuesday it was claimed that the Premier League champions have scouted the player over 15 times in the past few months.

Grêmio currently have 60% of Everton’s economic rights. It’s believed that an offer of €30m, where they would get €18m, would be enough to let him go.

However, club president Romildo Bolzan Jr has claimed Everton is protected by an €80m release clause, and that’s why the club will hardly find themselves in a threatening position to sell the star.
