A couple of days ago, we covered a story in Gazzetta dello Sport that Milan Skriniar was still being tracked by Manchester United, who were at the front of the line in case a deal could get done.
This was written by the Italian newspaper as the Slovakian defender’s agent is currently in contract talks with Inter about a new deal, but the two parties aren’t getting anywhere.
The reason for this, according to Corriere dello Sport, is because the representative is asking the Serie A club for the money his client could have made had he moved to José Mourinho’s side.
The centre-back is currently earning €1.5m/year, which the Serie A side are willing to increase to €2.5m.
However, Skriniar’s agent is said to be asking for €3.5m/year, as that’s what Manchester United offered, and it’s causing problems.
Currently contracted until 2021, there’s no real rush to extend the 23-year-old’s contract, but considering his importance to the side, playing 40 games in all competitions last year, he might be deserving of a pay increase.
Hence why he’s asking for one.
