Charly Musonda has struggled to cement a place in Chelsea’s starting lineup since making his way into the first team squad.

On August 1st, DH reported Jupiler Pro League club Amderlecht want to take him on a season-long loan deal, but the west London club are asking for too much money for the temporary deal.

The same publication reported on Thursday the talks between the two clubs for the winger have ‘slowed down’ because the FA Cup winners want to collect a sizeable loan fee from Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s side, something they were unwilling to pay.

DH now claims that Italian clubs have joined Anderlecht in the race for the versatile forward as he is ‘coveted’ by Inter Milan, AC Milan and AS Roma. He wants to play for a new club and Maurizio Sarri’s side will only allow him to go out on a loan deal.

Musonda’s current deal at Stamford Bridge runs down in 2022 and he’s now trying to ‘convince’ Chelsea to ‘let him go’. With four years left on his contract, it should be seen if the Premier League club will cash in from his sale or send him out on loan.

There’s an obvious solution here: Buyback clause.
