On Friday morning, we saw TuttoMercatoWeb claiming Fulham were just joining the battle to sign AC Milan midfielder Charles De Ketelaere.

It’s was said that a bid was expected in the coming hours, with them expected to offer less than the €20m requested by the Rossoneri.

Well, as TuttoMercatoWeb now features an update on the situation, they claim that Fulham’s attempt was indeed made.

It’s confirmed that the Whites barely matched Milan’s request, offering between €15m and €20m for an outright transfer.

There are two reasons why that shouldn’t go through. The first of them is that Atalanta apparently have an agreement with Milan for a €3m loan with a €23m buying option.

The decision is said to be up to the player, who still doesn’t know whether to join the Bergamo side. What he seems to do know is that he didn’t want the move to Fulham.

It’s claimed that De Ketelaere is ‘not eager’ to go to the Premier League, ‘especially to a non-leading club’.

As a decision from him is expected today, it just sounds certain that Fulham will not be an option.
