Two days ago, RMC Sport reported Jérémy Doku is a priority target for Manchester City to replace Riyad Mahrez. The treble winners received a boost after Rennes manager Bruno Génésio opened the door for his sale this summer.

The Citizens are joined by West Ham United in the chase for the winger. That’s according to Foot Mercato, who explain the steps taken by the Premier League duo in the transfer race.

Foot Mercato have found out from sources close to the player that he has an agreement with Manchester City for a five-year deal.

It’s claimed an offer from Pep Guardiola’s side ‘should also soon arrive’ at the French club, who are ready to part ways with the Belgium international and need at least €50m.

West Ham have already made an offer to the Ligue 1 side but the figures proposed by them aren’t mentioned in the report. They do state the 21-year-old’s days at Rennes are numbered.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to Twitter to state Doku has agreed a five-year deal with the Etihad club after holding talks with Guardiola. He adds Manchester City should table the ‘first written offer’ this week. Rennes, for their part, want at least €55m.

Tavolieri claims West Ham are in talks with Rennes and want to hijack the deal by offering a better deal than the Premier League winners. David Moyes’ side are unlikely to succeed because Doku ‘only wants Manchester City’.
