A couple of days ago Italy’s Calciomercato claimed two English clubs have put forward an offer for Rafinha, with Everton the only side named.

The reason for Italian interest is that Inter Milan are the club most linked with Rafinha at the moment, with many claims of a possible deal in the country’s media.

Inter want a loan with a redemption condition in the summer which could see them sign the player permanently for €20m plus bonuses.

Sunday’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport makes it very clear that Rafinha is a player Barcelona will listen to offers for, and they set out the conditions for a January transfer.

Everton, Inter Milan and other interested clubs will be asked for €25m should they want to sign the player permanently this month. Crucially it’s also stated Barcelona will consider a loan until the end of the season, which would be the smart way for Everton to go about things.

Rafinha is undoubtedly talented and his ambitions of making it back to Brazil’s national team aren’t without merit, but his continued injury problems would be a concern for Everton.

A loan move for the 24 year old would be a low risk gamble for Everton, especially if they also had a buying clause in their favour. Holding a Spanish passport, Rafinha wouldn’t need to worry about a work permit.

Gerard Deulofeu is also available, which could bring Everton a transfer fee percentage if he moves this month, as per the terms of Barcelona’s buyback clause.
