There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Wolverhampton Wanderers are the latest Premier League side to show interest in Fenerbahce defender Yusuf Akçiçek.
The 19-year-old impressed under Jose Mourinho last season, which brought him to the attention of others, with ambitious links to other clubs including Aston Villa and Manchester United.
Hurriyet report on the latest developments around the central defender and state Wolves have received information about the conditions to sign him.
It’s claimed Vitor Pereira knows Akçiçek well from his time as Fenerbahce manager, when the youngster was coming through the Super Lig side’s academy.
At this stage there are no reports if Wolves intend to go into talks or make an offer for the Turkey international, but it’s believed they’ll face competition from Stuttgart and Marseille should they do so.
Akçiçek made 21 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring two goals. He’s contracted to the Istanbul club until June 2028.
There’s no indication from Hurriyet regarding transfer fee, although previous reports have mentioned €20m may be enough.
