The Portuguese and Spanish media continue to sound convinced that Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Gonçalo Guedes is switching Benfica for Villarreal.
Earlier on Monday, we had already covered reports from Mais Futebol which said the parties are ‘finalising the details’ for the Wolves striker to move to La Liga.
As Portuguese newspaper O Jogo today shares a short story on the situation, they bring a few more details on when that move could be done.
It’s said that even though the deal isn’t finalised yet, the player gave his green light and the transfer should be sorted out this week. Benfica play on Wednesday, and it’s claimed the agreement should be ‘delayed’ until the day after.
Meanwhile, Spanish newspaper El Periódico Meditarraneo, which is local to Villarreal, claims that Guedes’ arrival is ‘imminent’, as in the coming week, the clubs will agree a six-month loan deal.
It’s claimed that there’s a ‘total agreement’ between Wolves, Guedes and Villarreal, and they now only need Benfica’s final approval to conclude the business. Everything indicates that no buying option will be included in the deal.
