On Monday, Tuttosport came out with a very strange story claiming that West Bromwich Albion had offered a big contract to Torino manager Ivan Juric.
That’s what the Italian newspaper claimed, with it said everything depended on a potential change of ownership at The Hawthorns, with Shilen Patel wanting to wipe the slate clean if he took over.
That seemingly included the idea of replacing Carlos Corberan with Juric, which may be an unpopular decision with the West Brom fanbase, but that hasn’t stopped Torino from looking at other managers, according to Tuttosport, knowing they could lose the Croatian regardless of the interest from the Baggies.
That’s because his contract with them expires at the end of the season, and he has already made it clear he would only stay if they qualified for Europe.
Therefore, Torino are looking around for potential replacement, with the ‘casting’ for the next candidate already underway.
It’s recalled that West Brom have Juric ‘concretely in their sights’, although a lot could also likely depend on whether the Baggies manage to gain promotion back to the Premier League.
Still, the names of Paolo Vanoli, Igor Tudor, Raffaele Palladino and Genarro Gattuso are all mentioned as possible options for Torino, who will still try one last attempt to keep their current man.
