Watford have finished the 2024/25 season in the 14th place, 11 points behind sixth placed Bristol City.

The Championship have parted ways with Tom Cleverley earlier this month and are in the process of appointing a new permanent manager. Behind the scenes, the Hornets have already started working to improve their squad for the next season.

Peterborough United’s Hector Kyprianou has been included on Watford’s target list for the summer window.

That’s according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide a short update.

The Cyprus international has over a month left on his contract with the League One side and will leave them as a free agent. Aouna claims Watford have agreed a deal to sign the 23-year-old.

Kyprianou was born in England but represented Cyprus at the youth and senior level. He graduated from Leyton Orient’s academy and was with their first team for three years before leaving them for Peterborough United in 2022.

He mainly operates as a defensive midfielder but can also be used in the middle of the pitch. Kyprianou made 140 appearances for Peterborough United and is set to continue in the UK at Watford next season.
