The Brazilian media today reveals Al-Nassr’s attempt to sign Emerson Royal from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a story from Premier League Brasil, the Saudi side are making an effort to sign the fullback signed in the final days of the winter window.
It’s said Al-Nassr already placed an official bid for Emerson, worth €25m, and that was turned down by Tottenham.
The Saudi side should then come up with a new bid, this time worth €35m, and it’s not yet known how Spurs will react to that.
PL Brasil claims that Tottenham are ‘satisfied’ with how Emerson has been doing this season, as he’s been useful for Ange Postecoglou. That’s why they’re not keen to negotiate his departure in the middle of the season.
The player himself is said to be happy at the club and focused on his present there, so there’s no sign that he’d push for a move at this stage.
We must just say that going from €25m to €35m is a big and uncommon increase, though, and if it’s confirmed, Tottenham may end up finding that interesting.
