Lucas Bergvall should consider a move to Brighton & Hove Albion or Nottingham Forest this summer.
That’s according to Fotboll Direkt journalist Mattias Eckerman, who mentions this when analysing the Sweden international’s situation.
Brighton, Nottingham Forest and several other clubs have emerged as his suitors since the 20-year-old asked to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
Before these claims emerged, the midfielder said he wants to focus on the World Cup. Last week, Bergvall reiterated he will decide on a potential move once Sweden’s involvement ends.
Roberto De Zerbi joined the north London club in March and didn’t include the midfielder in his starting lineup. The latter played 113 minutes under the Italian and was an unused substitute in the last two matches.
Brighton and Nottingham Forest good options
Journalist Fredrik de Ron has urged the player to change clubs this summer. Mattias Eckerman agrees with his colleague and encouraged his compatriot to leave Spurs.
“For the sake of Swedish football’s development, we really want him to play. I think we’re all in complete agreement that he has tremendous potential,” he said.
Fotboll Direkt points out claims of Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest, Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma interest.
On this topic, Eckerman explained: “It’s a very nice environment for players to develop in. He shouldn’t go up in terms of club size, but maybe a little bit diagonally down, if you can say that about Brighton and Nottingham Forest, who both came before Tottenham last season. These are clubs that are doing better at the moment.”

Mattias Eckerman believes Fabian Hürzeler’s side could be a dream club over Nottingham Forest for Lucas Bergvall.
Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yasin Ayari has been linked to a few clubs. If he were to leave, the Spurs midfielder can be a candidate to replace him.
“He’s not the same type of player, but he could be a replacement if he [Ayari] leaves,” he added.
Bergvall’s contract at the north London club lasts until 2031, and Transfermarkt value him at €35m. He played 1,465 minutes from 35 matches last season, managing a goal and five assists.
