Manchester United won’t be enjoying this international break. So far, it’s been nothing but a disaster for them.
While the pressure ramps up on Michael Carrick off the pitch, the internationals are also robbing him of first team players.
Earlier this week it was an injury scare for Bruno Fernandes. That followed the various reports about Benjamin Sesko, who appears destined for an extended injury layoff thanks to a shin injury.
While it seems Fernandes will be alright, he’s now been replaced by another on the worry list – Noussair Mazraoui.
Latest injury
FRMF Xtra on X report that he came out of Morocco’s recent win over Lesotho. They even provide images of him down on the pitch during the game.
Africa Foot back this up. They also report on the win and state that the ‘only shadow’ on the game was the Manchester United defender’s exit through injury in the second half. Neither makes mention of the nature of the injury at this moment in time.
There will be concerns that the Manchester United defender is set to add to Manchester United’s growing injury concerns.
They already have Mathijs de Ligt, Karl Darlow, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, Manuel Ugarte, Sesko, Marcus Rashford, Tom Heaton and Patrick Dorgu out of action. And they’ll be concerned about Fernandes’ issues as well.

Wait and see
The hope with Mazroui is that he’s not suffered a recurrence of one of his previous injuries. His time at Manchester United so far has already been littered with various ailments.
He’s suffered from a knock (9 games), muscle injury (4 games), foot injury (10 days), was ill (one game). He also had a shoulder injury (7 days) earlier this year as well.
The ‘knock’ kept him out for 40 days and was the longest absence, following by the muscle injury which saw him miss 26 days.
Another absence like that would be disastrous, with Carrick’s squad already looking thin.
