If you’ve been keeping track of things since the January window ended, you’ll know that Tottenham’s Bryan Gil has been shining since joining Valencia.

The youngster moved back to Spain on a temporary basis during the winter market in the hope of getting the regular game time that had not been on offer under Antonio Conte.

He’s been a regular for Jose Bordalas’ team since his arrival, with a series of impressive performances earning him rave reviews and key player status for the La Liga side.

We’ve covered several reports on how well he’s doing and the glowing affection he’s getting from fans and pundits alike. Indeed, Valencia are keen to get him back in the summer; he’s impressed that much.

SuperDeporte continue that today in their preview of Valencia’s clash with Athletic Club in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final this evening.

They say the Tottenham loanee is set to be ‘one of the big names’ of the clash between the two sides, having been a ‘protagonist’ in the first leg as well.

That game saw him put in a performance in which he ‘unsettled everyone’ and was a ‘constant headache’ for the opposition.

That display was one in which he confirmed himself as a key player for Valencia, for whim he is now an ‘indisputable footballer’. In fact, Bordalas considers him ‘indispensable’ to his plans.

That’s because the youngster ‘contributes in all senses’, even beyond the goal and assist column where the ‘impact of the attacker is total’.

The newspaper explains that Gil’s presence on the left ‘frees up Guedes and improves Gaya’ while his ability to pick up the ball and drive into the opposition half, often picking up free kicks or simply getting his team up the pitch, is an extremely useful tool to have.

He’s given Valencia ‘hope’, and their belief they can overcome Athletic in this game is borne from that.

All in all, it’s going extremely well for the Tottenham man, who has found the game time and development he needs away from London in the last two months.
