Girona are close to sealing a deal for Tottenham’s Bryan Gil, with a rapid deal possibly being concluded this week.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who report that Gil is ‘close to being officially announced’ after being told he can leave Tottenham.
The newspaper reports that Girona are close to sealing two very ‘hot’ signings in the coming days, with Gil’s absence from Tottenham’s pre-season tour a clear sign that he’s on the way.
Indeed, they argue that it gives ‘serious clues’ to what is going on at Girona and that the Tottenham man is on his way there.
According to their information, so long as nothing goes wrong at the last minute, Gil will be arriving from Tottenham as he is not a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans.
Girona’s sports management, led by Quique Cárcel, have pushed to get him and value what will be a ‘low-cost arrival’.
The most viable option is a loan with an option to buy, something MD say Tottenham would be open to as it would allow them to deal with amortisation. We’re not sure how that is the case so will wait for further information on that front.
For now, Mundo insist only the ‘fringes’ of the agreement are missing to close the deal and it could be announced in the coming days as a result.
