Tottenham Hotspur are optimistic of concluding the deal for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Jan Paul van Hecke this summer.
The Netherlands international worked under Roberto De Zerbi between 2022 and 2024 at Brighton.
De Zerbi, who took charge of the north London club in March, is keen on reuniting with his former player at Tottenham.
On Monday, Sport Witness covered claims from the Dutch press that the defender only wants to join Spurs amid interest from other clubs. He has held talks with the manager, who has convinced the 26-year-old.
Personal terms wouldn’t be a problem for De Zerbi’s side, who have to agree terms with Brighton. At the weekend, the Seagulls confirmed they’ve rejected two bids from their Premier League rivals.
