Tottenham are among the suitors for Fiorentina defender Dodô but will have to beat Barcelona to his signature.

That’s according to AS, who report that the Brazilian is the number one target for the Catalan side as they look for a new right-back this summer.

The newspaper explains that Barcelona director of football Deco is exploring the market for a right-back who can contribute to the squad. He has two names on his list and Dodô is one of them.

Deco has held meetings with several player’s representatives and Dodô, alongside Rayo Vallecano’s Andrei Ratiu, have taken the lead in his planning.

They face competition for Dodô, though, whose performances for Fiorentina have not gone unnoticed around Europe. Tottenham, Atlético Madrid, Milan, and Juve have also inquired about his situation.

Barcelona are believed to be in pole position for him, although Fiorentina will hope for a transfer battle. They currently rate the right-back at around €25m.

We would question Tottenham being interested given they already have Pedro Porro, Djed Spence has been a regular under Ange Postecoglou this season as well.

They don’t particularly need to spend their money on a new right-back, but AS insist they have inquired nonetheless about Dodô and could compete with Barcelona for him this summer.
