Joe Hodge has moved to describe himself to his new club Tondela, after completing his move from Wolverhampton Wanderers this week.

O Jogo cover comments from the midfielder today after he swapped Wolves for Portugal on Friday.

The Portuguese side announce the deal for the 22-year-old yesterday, with Hodge signing a four-year deal at his new club.

His move from Wolves was reported earlier this week and quickly wrapped up ahead of the weekend. It is his first move outside of England, where he had previously come through Manchester City’s youth ranks, where he was a regular for the U18s, before joining Wolves in 2022.

He made 13 first-team appearances at Molineux after working through their youth ranks, with 30 appearances for the U21s to his name.

He spent most of his time out on loan from the club, spending spells with Queens Park Rangers and Huddersfield before returning in May.

Now he’s looking to establish himself in Liga Portugal with Tondela and wanted to detail to fans who he is and what he does in case they’re not aware of his talents.

“I can’t wait to start this adventure. I’m very happy to be in Tondela. It’s a new step for me, where I’ll experience a new culture and live in a different country,” he said.

“I consider myself a player with a lot of energy, tactically sound, aggressive, and intense. I want to help Tondela have a positive season.”
