Even the Portuguese media is now talking about Fulham’s interest in Milan van Ewijk.
The reason for it is that Sporting Clube de Portugal have also joined the race for the Heerenveen player, and as newspaper Record today talks about that chase, they can’t ignore the fact that a club from the Premier League is also fighting for the signing.
The outlet writes that former Lions boss Marco Silva wants van Ewijk at Fulham, and recalls the player claiming it would be hard to say no to the Craven Cottage side.
Record says the fullback is valued at €4m and €5m is the price demanded by Heerenveen to sign him, with the amount getting to €7m with bonuses.
Sporting are interested in a player for that position because their right-back Pedro Porro is wanted by the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid, and Van Ewijk ‘meets the necessary conditions’ to replace him, but since the sale isn’t confirmed yet, they can’t make a stronger approach for that signing.
So, if Fulham are already planning to move for van Ewijk, they’re very likely to have an advantage, besides the fact they should also have more money in the bank if it were to come to that.
