The French media isn’t fully convinced by Axel Disasi’s form at Chelsea so far.
As L’Equipe today writes about the defender, who joined the Blues on a €45m move from Monaco last summer, they describe the ‘serious difficulties’ he’s been finding in English football.
The outlet claims that despite the ‘support’ from manager Mauricio Pochettino, Disasi has struggled in many of his first matches for Chelsea.
A couple of specific games are mentioned. One is the defeat to Liverpool, where Luis Diaz ‘put him to torture’, and the other is last weekend’s game versus Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he scored an own goal.
It’s claimed that even though Disasi had some ‘solid performances’ for the Blues, he’s still failing to show more regularity at the club, especially when you consider the price paid for him.
Since arriving at Chelsea, the defender already has 29 appearances made, holding a starting place in Mauricio Pochettino’s side for most of the season.
So even though the French media may question his early impact at his new club, the manager remains convinced that the investment made in his signing last summer was completely worth it.
