Last month, Leeds United’s interest in Krasnodar’s Eduard Spertsyan was trashed by the Russian press. Whilst the Whites had been keen at one point, it was explained they’d moved on and wouldn’t be making a further attempt for the player.
He’s now being linked with Brentford and Manchester United. This information comes from the Italian press, who look at the Armenian’s situation in some detail. L’Eco di Bergamo, as relayed by TuttoAtalanta, claim Spertsyan is the centre of attention from many European sides.
Brentford and Manchester United are monitoring the 25-year-old carefully and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested. Ajax are believed to be in the driving seat, with the report not mentioning Leeds United at all.
Krasnodar currently want a fee of €25m for the attacking midfielder, who scored 11 goals last season. Atalanta would find it ‘complex’ to land the Armenia international, perhaps due to the growing competition.
The Manchester United and Brentford claims don’t a lot to them at this stage, just the idea that Eduard Spertsyan is being considered by both clubs.
