Liverpool are in the picture to sign PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko in the summer window, according to Het Laatste Nieuws.
The winger has scored 14 goals and registered 14 assists from 46 games, and played a key role in helping the Eredivisie side win the title this season.
His displays have seen him end up on the radar of other clubs, including Liverpool.
The Belgium international’s deal lasts until 2026 and HLN question whether he should stay at PSV or make a switch to another club in the summer window.
They highlight the criticism aimed at the 21-year-old after Borussia Dortmund eliminated the Dutch club in the Champions League in March.
His situation has changed since then as he won the title and impressed on the pitch, by scoring a goal in each of the last six league games.
This hasn’t gone unnoticed and the report states the number of clubs showing interest in him is increasing. Liverpool are tagged as they have Bakayoko on their agenda for the next window.
Bakayoko’s current market value is around €40m, but HLN state PSV want a club-record fee to part ways with him. The current record is €50m, which is the fee the Reds paid for Cody Gakpo in January 2023.
The Merseyside club have already done business with PSV and this may give them an advantage over other suitors like Arsenal, Brentford and Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool have Mohamed Salah operating on the right wing and if he were to leave, they could increase their efforts for Bakayoko.
