Royale Union Saint-Gilloise’s Mohammed Fuseini is on his way to Birmingham City on deadline day.
That’s according to Footy-Africa, who cover the details of Birmingham City’s agreement to sign the striker.
Manager unhappy with Birmingham City move
He joined the Belgian club from SK Sturm Graz in July 2024 and managed 15 goals and five assists from 75 matches.
The Ghana international has a goal and two assists from five matches this season. He was not in the squad for their 3-0 win over Anderlecht on Sunday.
After the match, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise manager David Hubert has expressed his unhappiness over Mohammed Fuseini’s omission. La Dernière Heure have relayed his comments.
When specifically asked about his absence, he said: “It’s a [redacted] period.”
The manager isn’t too happy with his impending exit. La Dernière Heure states he didn’t feature at the weekend because of Birmingham City’s interest. The player is on his way to join the Championship side on loan with an option to buy.
Birmingham City move edging closer
Footy-Africa picks up on that and states the Blues and Troyes have shown a desire to sign Mohammed Fuseini.
The French club and other suitors will miss out on him because he now wants to move to England. This make it easier for Birmingham City to overcome competition.
Fuseini has already decided to leave the Jupiler Pro League side and has agreed on to personal terms with Chris Davies’ side.
They have also found an agreement with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
The Ghanian is set to undergo medical tests before completing his move to St. Andrew’s. This, if not completed yet, should take place in the next few hours. The two reports don’t mention the purchase option price.
Birmingham City striker Marvin Ducksch has already confirmed talks to return to Germany this summer.
He’s still at the club and was on the bench in the Blues’ win over Wrexham last weekend. Fuseini will either compete with or replace Ducksch at Birmingham City.
