Bayern Munich seem to have taken the lead in the reported race against Manchester United to sign Kim Min-jae.
A story from Foot Mercato today claims that the Napoli centre-back is ‘very hot’ to join the Bundesliga side, after being ‘seduced’ by their project.
Manchester United had been a strong contender to land Kim this summer, and that’s not ignored by the story. It’s said that the player had ‘initially preferred’ to join the Red Devils.
Bayern Munich’s bid, however, is ‘in the process of completely changing his mind’. The player is said to be attracted to joining the German champions who are ‘regularly’ qualified for the Champions League, which gives him ‘several interesting guarantees’.
Still, it’s said there’s nothing done yet.
The discussions between the parties are said be ongoing, with no agreement so far, despite the lead from the Bundesliga side.
If Manchester United still have some hope, they may even get a chance in this deal. Foot Mercato says the Red Devils remain ‘a serious option’ in Kim’s mind despite standing closer to Bayern at this time.
