According to a claim in the Turkish media, Nottingham Forest midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate looks set for a transfer to Trabzonspor.
The 34-year old’s contract with Forest will expire at the end of this month and subsequently he will become a free agent.
Fotospor have reported on Trabzonspor’s pursuit of Kouyate and they say the Turkish side are ready to sign the player. The final decision will come down to their manager Abdullah Avcı but he is said to be keen on the player.
Avci wants to bring in experienced players this summer and the Nottingham Forest player fits this profile.
It’s also reported Trabzonspor have tried in the past to sign the Senegal international. Fotospor say they made attempts to take the player on loan after transfer talks, but both times he rejected the move to Turkey.
Kouyate struggled to get games for Nottingham Forest last season, making just 12 Premier League appearances.
A move to the Super Lig will bring to an end his ten year stay in England following spells at Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Notiingham Forest.
