Beşiktaş want to sign Newcastle United‘s Joe Willock this summer, to please manager Vincenzo Italiano.
A Spor took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the latest update from journalist Efecan Öztaş.
Newcastle United player keen on move

The Istanbul club have been pursuing the 27-year-old for some time. Four days ago, Sport Witness covered a report from Turkey of the Black Eagles tabling an offer for the midfielder.
The proposal includes €7m plus €5m bonuses. The Magpies, who initially asked for €23m, lowered their request to €20m, haven’t accepted it.
Efecan Öztaş now picks up on that and reports Vincenzo Italiano specifically requests the club to sign Joe Willock.
He is keen on a move, as the player has already agreed to personal terms with the Turkish club. An agreement with Matthias Jaissle’s side is now missing.
Expecting compromise from Newcastle United
Efecan Öztaş adds Joe Willock’s agent has made a trip to Istanbul to hold official talks with Beşiktaş’ leaders.
He points out the Süper Lig side’s recent proposal of €10-12m and states that they are finding Newcastle United’s request to be high.
Vincenzo Italiano’s side have made it clear there’s no intention to further raise their offer.
Milliyet are backing that the Tyneside club are demanding €20m. Despite the gap in valuation, the two clubs continue talks for the midfielder’s summer transfer.
The Istanbul club are looking for a massive discount from Matthias Jaissle’s side. Beşiktaş are warning Newcastle United that they won’t match their €20m price, after refusing to improve their offer.
He’s in his final year of contract, and whether this will force the Magpies to compromise is unclear.
On Sunday, Willock came off the bench to score in Newcastle United’s 2-2 league draw against Liverpool at St James’ Park on Sunday. Clearly, he remains of use.
