Some days ago, we covered claims about Napoli’s interest in Dejan Kulusevski from Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli journalist Valter De Maggio, who mentioned that the Tottenham man would only be a concrete target if Jesper Lindstrom leaves the Partenopei.
Lindstrom is now set to join Everton after a frustrating spell at the Maradona.
CalcioNapoli24 have stated that despite the Dane’s exit, Tottenham’s Kulusevski is ‘not currently considered’ as a key target by the former Italian champions.
The Swede plied his trade at Spurs under Antonio Conte, who is now the new manager of Napoli. CalcioNapoli24 report that despite Napoli considering Kulusevski to be a player of ‘absolute value’, they do not see him as a target.
It is well known that Conte is the sort of manager who has his own ‘old guards’ and Napoli’s signing of Leonardo Spinazzola shows that. Despite him having wanted Kulusevski at Inter too, he doesn’t seem too keen on reuniting with him in Naples.
As we’ve explained multiple times, the Kulusevski claims appeared to be entirely a product of Italian media excitement.
