Manchester United have recently held ‘renewed contact’ with Borussia Dortmund full-back Ryerson regarding a move this summer.

BILD report that the 28-year-old could be set for a big move, particularly after his impressive performances at the World Cup with Norway.

Manchester United interest growing

The newspaper explains that while the hype is on Erling Haaland following the win over Brazil, Julian Ryerson also put in a ‘truly outstanding’ performance in that game.

His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed in England. BILD reports that, according to their information, Manchester United have long had Ryerson on their list of options. Sport Witness have reported on that information earlier this year as well.

Now Michael Carrick’s side have held ‘renewed contact’ with the player’s representatives about a move. Other ‘top international clubs’ are keeping an eye on him as well.

Ryerson’s performances at the World Cup, where he recently shut down Vinicius Junior and was one of Norway’s best players, are coming on the back of an impressive season with Borussia Dortmund.

Last season saw him rack up 15 assists in the Bundesliga alone. That made him one of the most dangerous players in the entire league.

His combination of pace and strength in one-on-one situations and his mentality mean he is a profile that is perfect for the Premier League.

Dortmund would need an offer worth €30m to consider a sale. Whether Manchester United would be willing to spend that much isn’t made clear.

In the meantime, Dortmund are trying to get the defender signed to a new deal as soon as the World Cup is over. They would prefer to keep the full-back this summer if they can.

But the growing interest from England could change their plans. Ryerson’s performances at the World Cup are only riving up interest in the meantime.
