Manchester United‘s Benjamin Šeško will undergo tests in England to find out the extend of injury, with worry building for Michael Carrick.
The striker arrived at Manchester United from RB Leipzig in August 2025 and suffered two injuries in his debut season.
In the Red Devils’ league win over Liverpool in May, he suffered a shin injury, forcing him to spend 79 days on the sidelines. This meant he didn’t feature during pre-season. He has played 206 minutes from six matches, scoring two goals this season.
The Slovenia international missed the Premier League side’s 1-1 draw against Fulham on Sunday. There’s concern in his country over his involvement with the national team for the ongoing international break.

Benjamin Šeško last made an appearance for his country in October 2025 and is unlikely to feature for them soon.
Ekipa state the Manchester United frontman is waiting to carry out tests, and “it doesn’t look good” for him.
They add: ‘It doesn’t look good because of history and past patterns, but it doesn’t look good either according to the logic of sports injuries, among which the most annoying, unpredictable and persistent are those that cannot – to put it very simply – be simply repaired, patched, sewn or bandaged, however you want.’

Ekipa states: ‘What is so worrying is that all these conditions, which can cause a bone to hurt for so long despite the complete absence of a classic fracture or something similar, are usually chronic.
‘This means that not only can they, by definition, drag on from March to September (and apparently soon into October), but they also have a very uncertain prognosis for the future. We will not go into various inflammations, problems with the internal structures of the bones and blood circulation – we have very little knowledge about all this.’

Benjamin Šeško will undergo an MRI scan in London today, as per Planet Nogomet. The results will give clarity on the extent of the damage and the next course of action.
His injury isn’t a new setback, but ‘repetition of problems that have plagued Šesko in the past.’
He was in pain after Manchester United’s EFL Cup defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Premier League side and Slovenia will eagerly await the results. Both can only hope his fresh setback isn’t serious, and he won’t be out for too long.
If it’s a serious blow, Manchester United not signing a striker in the summer will look even worse than it already does, especially given this injury isn’t new.
