Juventus will renew their interest in Manchester City full back Rayan Aït-Nouri in the January transfer window.
Bianconera News report that the Italian giants are not giving up on the Algerian international, despite Manchester City shutting the door on a move in the summer.
Summer denial
The outlet reports that the Bianconeri’s management have identified the 25-year-old as a potential reinforcement at left-back. They tried to move for him late in the summer transfer window, but Manchester City blocked all efforts.
Juventus anted a loan deal that would have included a fee and an option to buy. Rayan Aït-Nouri was open to the idea of a move, partly due to the competition for places at the Etihad. But the conditions for the deal were not there and City blocked it.
The door is by no means completely shut, however. The possibility of a move could be re-opened n the January transfer window.
Manchester City struggles
There is no indication from Bianconera News as to why that is the case. But the defender is yet to feature in the Premier League this season under Enzo Maresca. He has only managed 90 minutes in the EFL Cup and 15 minutes in the Champions League.
All indications are that he is not a part of the Italian’s long-term plans. There is time for that to change of course, but for now it appears Juventus are watching and starting to believe that a deal could be on.
Whether they can secure a loan deal for a player who cost Manchester City €36.8m just a year ago remains to be see. It appears that City – at least if their summer reaction to the bid is anything to go by – aren’t interested in that particular approach.
Much will depend on what happens in the coming months. If Rayan Aït-Nouri continues to struggle for game time under Maresca, perhaps the doors will start to open.
